Seeking Cast for Festival of One Acts
Actors for upcoming Festival of One Acts. Please see more info below. About the project: "Ancestry": Kit can't wait to share the results of her ancestry test with Mickey. It's the way she shares it that has him petrified of catastrophe. "The Bargain": When you sell your soul, Dan is the demon who comes to collect. But things aren't as simple as that - especially if evil coworkers object to working overtime, people don't respect a cool trench coat, and worst of all, the doomed mortal has a cat. "Bonus": All is fair in love and war until someone gets a bonus. Two employees with the same job compare their pay and perks, exploring the lighter side of income inequality. "Gown": Lynn and Annie embark on that treasured mother-daughter rite of passage: shopping for the perfect wedding gown. But saying yes to the dress proves not so straightforward as their afternoon in the bridal shop reveals an unforeseen agenda and unfolds in both heartbreaking and uplifting ways. "If You Were My Wife, I'd Shoot Myself": Set in a bar in Rome, a young American actress, Marinella, solicits the help of the bartender, Antonio, in composing a letter to her idol, the famous Italian stage and film director, Franco Zefferelli, who, she hopes, will give her a role in his next project. Cynical and world-weary, Antonio is, at first, impatient with Marinella’s histrionics and apparent flightiness, but gradually, as confidences are exchanged, a bridge of understanding—and compassion—is created between these two very different people. "Judas Iscariot's Day Off": Thanks to a kind deed that he once performed, Judas Iscariot is allowed out of hell for one day every thousand years...and today is that day. "Mere Mortals": Eavesdrops on a lunch hour on a girder fifty stories over the street, as three construction workers share increasingly amazing secrets of their past. "The Most Precious Thing": Worldweary Jaqueline is forced to evaluate her life’s value before time runs out. "The Philadelphia": Presents a young man in a restaurant who has fallen into "a Philadelphia," a Twilight Zone-like state in which he cannot get anything he asks for. "Six Feet": In this bittersweet comedy about love and math, a woman hellbent on distance encounters a man who wants to be near her. "Soulmate": The mysterious Lorna no longer uses her psychic ability on stage, but Jerry tempts her into one last reading that changes the course of his life. "Sugar": Lilia is startled when her new neighbor Jaden knocks on her door and asks to borrow sugar. But Jaden has an urgent ulterior motive that has nothing to do with sugar, and everything to do with Lilia. "Words, Words, Words": Recalls the philosophical adage that three monkeys typing into infinity will sooner or later produce Hamlet and asks: What would monkeys talk about at their typewriters?
