At its heart, this film is about resilience, solidarity, and community power—where the immigrant and their people ultimately come out on top. The tone blends grit with humanity, and the lead role carries the emotional core of the film. Rate: UBCP/ACTRA or Equivalent. Volunteer. Additional information: Shoot/Performance Date(s) September 20th 2025. Shoot/Performance Location(s) Vancouver. Project for the Shits N Giggles festival. They will require the lead actor to participate in a heavy amount of stunt fighting. But directors will have a couple of rehearsals before the shoot day. Submission Deadline September 4, 2025. Lead Character. Person of Colour. The character is strong, resourceful, and deeply human. They’ve endured hardship but carry quiet determination, resilience, and the ability to inspire others. Must be able to portray a wide emotional range—from fear and vulnerability to power and triumph. Preference will be given to performers with stunt fighting or physical performance experience.
