About the project: The synopsis for the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer play follows the misfit reindeer, Rudolph, who is ostracized for his glowing red nose. After running away from home, he meets Hermey the elf and Yukon Cornelius, and they discover the Island of Misfit Toys. When a Christmas Eve storm threatens Santa's flight, Rudolph's unique nose becomes the key to guiding the sleigh, saving Christmas, and proving that his difference is his greatest strength. An elf who doesn’t fit in with the toy-making elves because he dreams of becoming a dentist. Quirky, earnest, and determined to follow his own path.
A sweet young doe who believes in Rudolph from the start. Warm, supportive, and caring—she helps him feel accepted.
A boisterous, eccentric prospector always searching for silver and gold. Loud, adventurous, but ultimately loyal and brave.
The cheerful narrator of the story (voiced by Burl Ives). Warm, friendly, and musical; he guides the audience through Rudolph’s journey.
The classic jolly figure, though at first doubtful about Rudolph’s glowing nose. Eventually embraces Rudolph as the hero of Christmas.
Caring, supportive, and fussing over Santa, trying to keep him well-fed and cheery.
A group of unusual toys on the Island of Misfit Toys (e.g., a train with square wheels, a water pistol that squirts jelly). They symbolize being different but still valuable.
TA large, scary monster feared by many. Fierce at first, but later becomes gentle after having his teeth removed and joining the good guys.
