Singing Opportunities in "Oliver" Production
Seeking cast for the "Oliver" show. See more details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Callbacks for Lionel Bart’s Oliver! will be held on Thursday, September 4th from 6-10pm, Callbacks will begin with a dance call from 6-7pm. Callback notifications will be sent out by Wednesday, September 5th by 10am. Audition Preparation: Please prepare a song (approx. 32 bars, or 60 - 90 seconds of music) in the style of the show. To listen to the 1994 cast recording please see the attachment. An accompanist will be provided so please bring sheet music for the accompanist to play. Performing with an accompanist is strongly preferred, but you may provide tracks if you do not have sheet music. Please note: Amplification will not be provided and playing backing tracks off a cell phone (without proper additional amplification) is strongly discouraged. Rehearsals: Rehearsal for Lionel Bart’s Oliver! will begin in early September. Rehearsals will be based on both performer and production staff availability, so please submit all known conflicts at the time of auditions. The Milburn Stone Theatre traditionally rehearses between 2 to 4 times a week. Please note: Cecil College will be closed November 26th through November 30th in observation of Thanksgiving Tech Week: Tech week for Lionel Bart’s Oliver! will be held Monday, November 24th and Tuesday, November 25th, then the college will be closed from November 26th through 30th for Thanksgiving Break. Tech will resume on Monday, December 1st, and will continue through Thursday, December 4th, no conflicts will be accepted for these tech dates. Performances: Performances for Lionel Bart’s Oliver will begin on Friday, December 5th with performances on December 6th, 7th, 12th, 13th & 14th. There will be six performances in total with Friday evening performances taking place at 7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday matinees taking place at 2 pm. There is the possibly of evening performances being added on Saturday, December 6th and Saturday, December 13th and a daytime school performance on Friday, December 12th.
