About the project: Forced to take a break from school, Céleste — a shy and withdrawn young woman — lands a summer job at the Niagara Falls Aquarium. Isolated and out of place, she experiences an unexpected encounter that begins to alter her perception of reality. As visions blur the line between truth and illusion, Céleste must confront her inner demons before she loses herself completely. Rate: Union. UDA. SUPPORTING ROLE. English only. Helen is a bit absent-minded, a bit bohemian. She’s one of Céleste’s co-workers, Math’s cousin, and has worked in the aquarium’s gift shop for several years. She has no great ambitions in life and is content with her routine job. She’s perceptive and has a knack for reading people, always speaking her mind. Slightly older than Céleste, she senses a certain vulnerability in her and naturally takes on the role of friend, confidante, and mentor.
SUPPORTING ROLE. French & English. Élise is Céleste’s older sister. Direct, protective, and endowed with an impressive sense of efficiency, she is in every way the opposite of her younger sibling. Where Céleste is introverted and reserved, Élise can easily assert herself in any situation. When things go wrong, she keeps a cool head and acts without hesitation. She loves her sister deeply, but that affection comes with a sometimes heavy sense of responsibility.
SUPPORTING ROLE. English only Billie is the aquarium’s “star” guide. Always impeccably put together, with her perfectly sleek ponytail and spotless sneakers, she embodies zeal and efficiency. Extroverted, energetic, and deeply invested in her work, she’s been Employee of the Month since her very first day. Her boundless energy stands in stark contrast to Céleste’s reserved nature, creating a tension between them that is as silent as it is undeniable.
