The company is holding auditions for "Hello, Dolly!" please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Additional info: Please prepare 32 bars of a Golden Age musical theater piece- something that you love to sing and makes you happy, which will make us happy. Please bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided. If you’d prefer to audition with an accompaniment track, a Bluetooth speaker will be provided. Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (G3–D5) A strong-willed matchmaker and widow, full of personality, wit, and heart. She meddles for good and ultimately is searching for her own second chance at love. Star role; requires strong comedic timing and commanding stage presence.
Vocal Range: Baritone (B♭2–E4) A wealthy, grumpy, and curmudgeonly half-a-millionaire who owns a feed store. He’s tight-fisted but looking for a wife. Comic role; needs dry humor and gruffness.
Vocal Range: Baritenor (B2–G4) The head clerk at Vandergelder's store, adventurous, sweet-natured, and idealistic. Seeks more exciting life and falls for Irene. Requires charm, physical comedy, and a light romantic lead voice.
Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (G3–F5) A charming, intelligent widow who owns a hat shop. She’s graceful, elegant, and open to love again. Romantic lead with strong soprano/mezzo voice and refined presence.
Vocal Range: Soprano (C4–F5) Irene's assistant. A chatterbox, comically innocent, and endearing. High-energy character role; good comedic timing needed.
Vocal Range: Tenor (C3–F4) A young artist in love with Ermengarde. Sincere, determined, and earnest. Youthful tenor role. Often doubles in ensemble.
Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (C4–C5) Vandergelder’s niece. Young, melodramatic, and constantly crying. Comic ingénue role with exaggerated emotions.
A diverse and dynamic group of actors will fill out the cast to be featured heavily throughout the production in various roles. Such roles include but are not limited to Mrs. Rose, Fritz, Stanley, Rudolph Reisenweber, and others.
