About the project: With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations... and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. "Annie," set during the Great Depression, tells the story of a spirited young orphan girl determined to find her parents, who left her on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage. Under the care of the harsh Miss Hannigan, Annie's journey takes an unexpected turn when she is chosen to spend Christmas at the home of billionaire Oliver Warbucks. With memorable songs like "Tomorrow" and "It's the Hard-Knock Life," "Annie" is a tale of hope, love, and resilience. Rate: A tiered stipend will be given to all actors. Warm Baritone to a high F: A powerful billionaire, who always has his mind on business, but has a kind heart looking for someone to love. Sings “NYC”, "Something Was Missing", and "I Don't Need Anything But You". The role involves a very small amount of dance. May be required to SHAVE head.
Soprano/mix to high G: Grace Farrell is Oliver Warbucks's calm, cool and classy secretary. She appears business-like when dealing with Miss Hannigan and Warbucks, yet maternal toward Annie. Always appears "in control;" she is sophisticated, likable, sweet and confident.
Alto A to D: Miss Hannigan is Desperate and unhappy with her lot in life, she is the alcoholic orphanage matron who is Annie's nemesis. Sings, "Little Girls" and "Easy Street" the role involves a very small amount of dance.
Tenor to high G: Miss Hannigan's greedy and dishonest brother. Sings "Easy Street". He is flashy, self-assured and the "smooth gambler" type. Strong Mover. Character Actor.
Soprano up to a high G. Shady, floozy girlfriend of Rooster. Sings "Easy Street". She is naturally funny, has a good sense of timing and is a strong singer. Strong Mover. Character Actress.
Tenor to F#: A popular radio announcer. Sings "You're Never Fully Dressed without a Smile". Vocal Range: Tenor to F#.
The President of the United States of America, who takes an immediate liking to Annie and her optimism. Must be able to imitate Roosevelt.
