Sherry LocalFemale50-59 y.o.All ethnicities

Non-Amish. She is a local woman, married, blue collar, who has a difficult time understanding and reconciling her middle-class life with the horror of the murders. Blunt. Uses strong profanity. "The Amish Project"

Carol StuckeyFemale30-39 y.o.All ethnicities

Non-Amish. She is the wife of the shooter and a mother of two. She is in shell-shock through most of the play, trying to come to grips with the reality of the situation. Uses some strong profanity. "The Amish Project"

Eddie StuckeyMale30-39 y.o.All ethnicities

Non-Amish, Carol’s husband and father of two. He is the shooter. He shoots 10 girls, killing six then shoots himself. He drives the local milk truck and, until this event, lives a normal life. We learn about him, but we still don’t learn why he did this horrific act. "The Amish Project"

Bill NorthMale46-59 y.o.All ethnicities

Non-Amish. He is a good friend of Aaron, the father of Velda and Anna. He is a local professor who has studied the Amish for a generation and helps to explain their lives and beliefs to the rest of us. His reasons are personal, as we learn through the play. "The Amish Project"

HC CurryBoth genders55-79 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male presenting) He’s the Dad. He has weathered rough times on the farm and come through every time. He understands more than he’s given credit for, and he believes in the dream, the magic of nature, and his family. Good sense of humor and not one to panic in a crisis, real or imagined. He sure wishes it would rain. "The Rainmaker"

Noah CurryBoth genders20-49 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male presenting) He’s the oldest brother. Noah is much like his dad in his strength when dealing with rough times, but he does not believe in anything he can’t directly control. Pragmatic to a fault, he is losing the dream and doesn’t know it. He left his sense of humor at the train station. He knows they need rain, but he doesn’t see it happening any time soon. "The Rainmaker"

Jim CurryBoth genders18-29 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male presenting) He’s the youngest brother. Full on dreamer, strong, physical, the embodiment of the magic of nature; he may not be the brightest light in the chandelier, but then again...we are what we believe. He enjoys the natural pleasures, including finding humor in situations and people, and he loves his sister. What the hey, it will rain sooner or later. "The Rainmaker"

Lizzie CurryBoth genders18-49 y.o.All ethnicities

(Female presenting) Referred to as a “spinster”, Lizzie is reminded regularly that her time is running out as a useful breeder. Well, they aren’t quite that blunt, but it is mid-20th century. She has a great sense of humor and knows there is something else, some other natural energy she can’t quite get clear in her mind. Maybe it’s rain coming. She believes she will find it. Folks are funny, aren’t they? "The Rainmaker"

FileBoth genders26-49 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male presenting) Deputy sheriff. He can almost hear the truth. He can almost believe in something beyond what he thinks he can control, and he might believe it has something to do with Lizzie. Honest, good guy. Sarcasm is not beneath him should the occasion warrant it. "The Rainmaker"

Sheriff ThomasBoth genders50-79 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male presenting) The Sheriff. Yep, that’s what he is. He’d like to retire. I’m sure he has a pocket watch somewhere. No nonsense if there’s a con man around... "The Rainmaker"

Bill StarbuckBoth genders20-49 y.o.All ethnicities

(Male presenting) Yeah, he’s the title character. Just arrived in town with a story that’s a little vague. Belief is his business, but business has been a little slow. Mysterious, magnetic, a force of nature in many ways. Not everybody sees things the same way, and he’s seen quite a lot. About that natural energy...of course it will rain. Just believe strongly enough. "The Rainmaker"
