ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ADMITTED. Casting actors to portray roles in "Burger King John Doe" film. Please, see the details below. About the project: A man wakes up in a Burger King parking lot with no recollection of how he got there or who he is. This short film dives into the emotion he feels of seeing a stranger every time he looks in the mirror. Through continuous search to discover his identity, the “Burger King John Doe” goes through a wide array of emotions, from confusion to frustration to, finally, acceptance. Will he choose to return to his former life as the man he sought to know of all this time, or will he continue ahead in his brand new identity? This short film is based on the true events surrounding the life of Benjaman Kyle, also known as William Burgess Powell. It is a loosely based adaptation meant to focus on the emotions someone could go through in that situation rather than the story of Benjaman Kyle itself. Character names may therefore be changed. Rate: Non-Union. This is a volunteer project made for Run N’ Gun’s “Shits N’ Giggles” festival. It will also be submitted to other film festivals. There is no compensation provided for this shoot. Food will be provided. Additional information: AUDITION LOCATION Online (Self-tape). SHOOT/PERFORMANCE DATE(S) August 30-31. SHOOT/PERFORMANCE LOCATION(S) Vancouver, BC. 5 roles

Benjaman Kyle/William Burgess PowellMale30-60 y.o.All ethnicities

Benjaman Kyle suffered from amnesia and cannot remember anything about himself or his past. He can recall certain fragments, but he is often met with confusion from others and is thus confused in return. Every time he glances in the mirror, he sees a stranger: the man he once was but knows next-to-nothing about, William Burgess Powell. The frustration during his search for that man eventually culminates, and after nothing works he gives up. Any (but a mustache would be fun for accuracy).

ReceptionistFemale20-50 y.o.All ethnicities

A woman working at the reception in the hospital that admits Benjaman as a patient. She is very confused by Benjaman’s initial nonchalantness at not knowing his identity. She is meant as a comedic character who only appears briefly but makes a lasting impact on the audience.

DoctorFemale30-60 y.o.All ethnicities

The doctor that gives Benjaman his amnesia diagnosis. She is very professional and tries her best to help Benjaman remember, but ultimately cannot do anything. It is in her office that Benjaman first experiences seeing a “stranger” in the mirror.

DNA Analyst (Voice)Female18-56 y.o.All ethnicities

The DNA Analyst calls Benjaman at the end of the short to confirm that they’ve found a match for his identity. She is professional and analytical in her delivery of information, with enthusiasm on finding Benjaman’s real name. Whether Benjaman chooses to learn it for himself is left a mystery.
