The sly, charming star of the show. Lithe, eccentric, mysterious. Can go from utterly charming and magical to dark and enigmatic.
Imaginative, fun, kind and loving grandpa. After many years being confined to a bed, his childish energy returns when Charlie finds the golden ticket.
Augustu’s German, Wagnerian mother. Smiles as though it has been affixed upon her face. Doubles as: GRANDMA JOSEPHINE, one of Charlie’s Grandparents.
She needs drugs to get through the day and deal with her spoiled, violent, terrifying son. Verge of nervous breakdown but funny. Doubles as: GRANDMA GEORGINA, one of Charlie’s Grandparents.
Veruca’s goofy, eccentric, distracted, high strung father. Finds it impossible to say no to his daughter. Doubles as: GRANDPA GEORGE, one of Charlie’s Grandparents.
Charlie’s warm and kind-hearted mother. Warrior. Generous and loving. Doubles as: CHERRY SUNDAY, the “chief confectionary correspondent” who interviews the Golden Ticket winners and their parents, OOMPA LOOMPA, SQUIRREL PUPPETEER, and ENSEMBLE.
Violet’s ineffectual father. Ignores his back-talking, insult-hurling daughter. Doubles as: OOMPA LOOMPA, and ENSEMBLE.
A vegetable seller, also to play various roles throughout the show. Reporter, Oompa Loompa, Squirrel, etc.
