This is the case for two women, whose paths cross at a pivotal chapter for both. This vivid, emotionally charged work takes the audience through a stunning tragedy, a gripping mystery--and a powerful resolution that will stay with you... "In Praise of Sparrows" shows that there is light to be found, even after decades of darkness. Audiences will be part of the world premiere of this work. Show Rating: PG-13 Death, Child Death, Suicide, Gunfire. Additional info: WHO CAN AUDITION: 29 speaking parts available for a diverse cast. Some speaking parts for young actors with majority of roles for adult actors. Seeking senior actors for significant roles. Seeking culturally diverse actors. Please note that there are some mature themes in the play. Those auditioning will take part in readings from the script, and everyone will be given time to read and practice. No experience is required for auditions. HOW TO PREPARE: Review the performance and rehearsal details below, and ensure you are available for the dates listed. Audition will consist of readings from the script in a collaborative environment. VIRTUAL AUDITIONS: see the attachment. AUDITION FORMS & WAIVERS: Printed audition forms and waivers will need to be filled out upon arrival at auditions. You can review participation waiver in advance: see the attachment. A waiver must be signed by each actor auditioning in person and every cast member. PARTICIPATION FEE: There is no cost to participate in this production. CASTING AND REHEARSALS: The cast list will be released on the Theatre website and social media pages on Tuesday, August 11th, 2025. Cast Orientation and Script Pickup will be Sunday August 17th from 4:30PM - 6:30PM. Rehearsals begin Monday, August 18th. Rehearsals vary by role (1-4 nights per week). All cast must attend every night during the final week.
