The company if holding auditions for "Prodigal Son" show and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: "Prodigal Son" is the autobiographical story of author John Patrick Shanley as a 15 year old in the 1960s at a private prep school in New Hampshire. Jim is a rough, troubled, brilliant youth from a blue collar family in the The Bronx who receives a scholarship to the prestigious Thomas More Preparatory School in New Hampshire after being expelled from another high school during his sophomore year. While Jim is wrestling with his identity, two faculty members Alan Hoffman, head of the English Department and Carl Schmitt, the headmaster, are wrestling with what to do with Jim. Is he a brilliant, though troubled youth who with the correct guidance could do great things, or is he a lost cause that could tarnish the reputation of their school? Additional info: Callbacks are by invitation only and will be held on Saturday 8/2 from 1:00-5:00 pm. You must be available for the in-person callback. Material To Prepare: This is an open call audition for Prodigal Son. Please prepare a 60-90 second dramatic monologue from a contemporary play or if you would rather, you may cold read from the script A copy of your resume and headshot is preferred but not necessary to audition Bring all scheduling conflicts When applying, please include a self-tape of a 60-90 second dramatic contemporary monologue by 9:00pm on Friday, August 1.

Headmaster of the school. Devout Catholic, firm in his beliefs with a black and white view of right and wrong. While initially he gives Jim a scholarship to go to the school, he is on to Jim's antics and debates whether to expel Jim instead of allowing him to graduate.

English teacher, Mr. Hoffman chooses a student every year to be his "project" whom he takes under his wing. This time, he chooses Jim. He believes Jim has a lot of potential. He attempts to kiss Jim, so the actor playing Mr. Hoffman must be comfortable with this situation.

Wife of Carl Schmitt. She is Jim's poetry mentor. She sees Jim as bright and having potential, despite her husband's disdain for the young man.
