About the project: Josh is an insecure artist who would rather do nothing with his life than face the prospect of failure. On the night of his 22nd birthday, Josh encounters an uncanny anomaly—his doppelgänger. As it attempts second contact, the clock starts, and Josh must uncover the truth behind his encounter or come to terms with the premature end of the life he never lived. Rate: Non-Union. An insecure and avoidant aspiring painter. Josh spends his days chasing anything that helps him ignore himself, perpetuating the lack fulfillment that he pretends doesn’t bother him. His lack of self-confidence prevents him from committing to any meaningful endeavor, especially his art, despite his passion for it. Born to a father that sees him as a failure and a mother who believes him incapable, the lack of faith from his parents manifests into his shackling fear of self and of failure.
A reliable, perceptive, and responsible musician and Josh’s closest friend since childhood. Despite being Josh’s partner in crime during their high school years, Matteo has matured since then, while maintaining his lively personality. He cares deeply for Josh and envisions a world where the two artists climb up their respective ladders together. He makes every opportunity to help him even though the horse just won’t drink.
Genuine and caring but unwittingly overcritical. Mom loves Josh dearly and worries for his future, specifically his seeming lack of prospects. However, in her well-intentioned goals to help him make the right decisions, she demonstrates her lack of faith in him, furthering the insecurities that stunt his growth, thus furthering her lack of faith. Caught in the middle of father-son tensions, she makes extra effort to be present in her son’s life and ensure his success and happiness.
