About the project: A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop Of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty And The Beast, and Aladdin) are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world. In the show the meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names "Audrey II" - after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out of this world origins and intent towards global domination! Additional info: WHAT TO BRING AND EXPECT: 1. You will need 2, 30 second YOUTUBE TRACKS of music of the following styles: a. 60's-70's Rock/R&B ballad. b. Traditional Musical theatre song. 2. Actors will then be asked to read a selected monologue from the show based of the preferred character. NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT: video auditions will be accepted. Tech week (REQUIRED FOR ALL ACTORS): September 25th, 26th, 29th, 30th, Oct 1st. Show dates - October 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th shows at 7pm and 2:30pm on Sundays. Puppet. An anthropomorphic cross between a Venus flytrap and an avocado, the plant has an appetite for human flesh that is appeased by Seymour. Puppeteer doubles as other sizes of the plant.
