Maurice is a conflicted young man failed by the system meant to protect him. After becoming the target of a predatory priest, the young altar boy kills his abuser in self-defense. Though justified, he’s torn by guilt and moral consequence. Intelligent yet innocent, he embodies both righteous rebellion and the tragedy of a youth forced to bear the weight of violence.
Officer Barnes is a respected small-town cop and a family man, known for his warmth and dedication. But beneath his steady exterior lies a dark secret: years ago, he was involved in a fatal drunk driving incident, an event that was hidden and covered up, known only by Father Declan. Now, under Declan’s blackmail, Barnes is torn between guilt, duty, and the fear of exposure, haunted by a past that threatens to destroy the life he’s built.
Father Williams, though dead from the start, is the story’s unseen antagonist whose actions haunt every character. A predator in priestly robes, he represents the institutional corruption Declan despises. His presence lingers like a ghost, shaping events and tension as his abuse of Maurice and other altar boys is slowly revealed. His shadow defines the moral decay at the heart of the story. Non-speaking role. The actor will be having a bloody makeup done to his face.
