The fourth wife of Henry VIII was barely 20 when she married Henry through the machinations of her brother. Extremely innocent and naïve with German as her first language -Anne gladly accepts Henry's offer of an annulment when he does not (cannot) consummate the marriage.
The fifth wife of Henry VIII, who was probably 16 or 17 when she married the aging king. She came to her marriage experienced in the ways of sex and love, having had little guidance or restriction as a young women. She is vivacious, impetuous, and youthful, but not stupid, just careless.
Eldest daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, his first and longest lasting wife. Mary is a woman in her teens and 20s, the only person who knew all six of her father's wives, and lived to be crowned Queen, the climax of this production. She is elegant, well raised, politically savvy, suspicious and wise.
