Theater Casting Call for "Filthy Rich" Play

About the play: Tyrone Power, a tough guy stereotype, is drunkenly writing a novel when he is swept up into the kidnapping of Michael Harrison, a prominent politician and the murder of an investigative reporter. Two very rich sisters insist he is the only one to find the politician; a detective suspects he is involved in the crime; and a mafioso fears he knows too much. Will Tyrone find his man before it is too late? Who really are the good guys? Rate: Non-union, non-paying. Unable to cast equity or ACTRA members. Additional information: AUDITIONS will be held on zoom. CALLBACKS will be in person at the theater on Tuesday, August 12 in the evening. ON STAGE: November 7 to 29, 2025. Rehearsals will start on Sunday, August 17 and will be typically held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (7pm to 10pm) and Sunday (1pm to 5pm) but can be flexible depending on actor availability. Actors MUST be available for all of Tech Sunday, November 2 and for Tech week rehearsals Monday through Thursday November 3 to 6, and for all performances: Friday, November 7 – Saturday (matinee), November 8. Wednesday, November 12 – Sunday (matinee), November 16. Thursday, November 20 – Sunday (matinee), November 23. Thursday, November 27 – Saturday, November 29. Actors are also expected to stay for a short wine & cheese reception with the patrons after Opening Night (Friday, November 7) and the short Audience Talkback after the show on Thursday, November 27. PREPARATION: Auditionees MUST read the play (available on request, or at the Toronto Public Library). Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue. You may be redirected. Part-time messenger boy and janitor. Would-be partner who inserts himself into the investigation. He sees himself as a ‘positive force’ in Power’s life.
Wealthy and attractive, wants to hire Power to find Michael Harrison.
Anne’s younger sister. Also wealthy and attractive and also looking for Harrison for reasons of her own.
Tough cop. Also looking for Harrison and for Power’s former partner Fred Whittacker, but not necessarily for police reasons.
Successful gangster and killer. His involvement with the case includes one of the Scott sisters, but which one?
