About the project: SYNOPSIS: The original fairytale first lady is back with a fresh world premiere retelling! Guided by a firefly-whispering Fairy Godmother, Cinderella isn’t searching for a prince—she’s honoring a promise, discovering her voice, and daring to believe in something greater than herself. Not just gowns, slippers, and pumpkins, Cinderella is the story of courage, loyalty, and true beauty! This new work blends heart, humor, and original songs that shine—inviting audiences of all ages to dream big, believe boldly, and step fully into who they are meant to be. Additional info: The creative team is seeking a dynamic ensemble of approximately 25 performers. Performers who move well, sing with confidence, and are excited to create original characters in a playful, collaborative environment. Some roles will be featured singers or featured dancers, but all cast members will sing/speak in rhythm and participate in movement-based storytelling. Directors are building a vibrant onstage community—ensemble roles are essential and celebrated. If you can carry a tune, move with energy, and love performing as part of a team—they want to see you. No preparation is needed to audition. Sides will be provided. Please be prepared to participate in a movement/dance exercise. Directors recommend wearing clothes that you are comfortable moving in and closed-toed shoes for safety. Proprietor of the kingdom’s dress shop; a magically glamorous, quirky figure with a heart of gold. Fairy Godmother and firefly whisperer by night. Featured singer. She delights in making others feel seen and beautiful, and finds joy in every spark of possibility.
The Prince’s uptight, loyal advisor, and the formal town crier. He takes pride in precision and etiquette, and longs to maintain perfect order—even when things inevitably spiral into chaos.
The youngest. A kind, collected cindermaid with purpose. She is focused on caring for those around her to honor her beloved father’s wishes. Featured singer. Beneath her quiet strength lies a spark of boldness waiting for the right moment to shine.
Head of the Finishing School for Proper Girls and Squirrels; prim, proper, and problematic. Widow to Celestio, Cinderella’s father. She fiercely clings to control and appearances, using rigid "properness" as armor against a world she cannot fully manage.
Right hand to the Queen; commanding and efficient. She is the unspoken engine that keeps the royal household running, and she never misses an opportunity to deliver a well-timed quip.
One of Madame Tightstitch’s stepsisters; dramatic and bratty. The oldest. The neediest. The worst. She has a flair for theatrics and is convinced the universe revolves around her (and her shoe size).
The youngest stepsister; complaining, conniving, competitive. She masks her insecurity with sarcasm and schemes, always desperate to outshine her sister—even if she never quite pulls it off.
A fumbling new student of the finishing school, and honest to a tea. Earnest and eager to please, she stumbles her way into surprising moments of courage and clarity.
