About the project: This pinnacle of the American musical theatre canon first appeared on Broadway in 1987, and has gone on to become one of Sondheim’s most-beloved and most-produced musicals. Mashing up the storylines and themes of multiple Brothers Grimm fairy tales – such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, and others, the cast delves into humor and poignancy as each story must go “Into the Woods” to find its resolution. Rate: All positions within the company are unpaid. Additional info: This is a non-profit, non-Equity, volunteer-based theater company. WHAT TO KNOW/PREPARE: - No reservations are needed. Arrive anytime within the audition window. - For most roles, please prepare a song excerpt in the style of the show that shows off your acting and vocal range. Please have an accompaniment track ready, a Bluetooth speaker will be provided. Video submissions will be considered: see the attachment. REHEARSALS: Sundays, 2-5 Tuesdays, 7-9 Wednesdays, 7-9 (Introductions/table read/first rehearsal will be Wednesday July 30, probably starting early, conflicts permitting.) Determined and bright woman who wishes to be a mother. She leads a simple, yet satisfying life and is very low-maintenance yet proactive in her endeavors. Vocal range: F3 - G5
