Dorothee is often bored at the Senior residence she stays at. Over the years, she has become invested in exchanging emails with a young 7 year old, named Japji, and her sister, who remind her of her own childhood. Through Japji's struggles, she is able to better reflect on her own lessons, and also shares the age-old philosophy - that often our struggles remain the same, no matter what the generation.
Paul is Japji and Sehaj's dad. He is a happy, go-lucky, cheerful man who sometimes is a source of a lesson and sometimes is in need of a learning lesson.
