"Scrooge!" the Musical in Need of Performers

About the project: Set in Victorian London, the story follows the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, a cold-hearted moneylender who despises Christmas and lives a life devoid of compassion and joy. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, who warns him to change his ways or suffer a grim fate in the afterlife. Scrooge undergoes a profound experience of redemption over the course of a Christmas Eve night, after being visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future. With a score full of memorable songs, including music for which composer Bricusse received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score for the film adaptation, Scrooge! The Musical blends humor, drama, and uplifting messages in a celebration of redemption and the true meaning of Christmas. Rate: $16.50/hour for rehearsals and performances for 10-25 hours per week. No minimum. No travel or housing is provided. Additional info: Bring: Copy of headshot and resume. Please prepare 16–32 bars of a song in the style of the show (but not from it). Rehearsals: beginning October 23, 2025. Weekday evenings and weekends. Performances: November 28 – December 21, 2025. Wednesday 7:45pm, Thursday 7:45pm, Friday 8pm, Saturday 3pm and 8pm, and Sunday 3pm. Special Performance: December 1 at 7pm (instead of 3pm). A miserly, cynical man who cares for nobody but himself. Harsh, calculating, and emotionally closed off, but capable of deep feeling. After a visit from the spirits of Christmas, he rediscovers joy and compassion. Vocal range: F2–G4
Scrooge’s underpaid and overworked clerk. A loving father and devoted husband. Gentle, empathetic, and eternally hopeful. Vocal range: A2–F4
Mrs. Cratchit is strong-willed and loving, unafraid to stand up to Scrooge’s injustice. Mrs. Dilber is a vendor who owes Scrooge money—tired, clever, and cautious. Also plays a boisterous pub landlord. Vocal range: Mezzo.
Harry is warm, witty, and full of holiday spirit. Young Ebenezer begins as shy and idealistic but becomes driven and emotionally closed. Also plays Pringle, a friendly toy shop owner. Vocal range: G2-F4.
Isabel is intelligent and affectionate but heartbroken by Ebenezer’s ambition. Helen is gracious and welcoming. Also plays a hopeful woman down on her luck. Vocal range: E3-G5.
Present is joyful, larger-than-life, and full of laughter. Fezziwig is a party-throwing businessman with a big heart. Harty and Carstairs are charitable gentlemen. Vocal range: Eb2-F4.

Mrs. Fezziwig is bubbly and generous. Jollygoode and Baker Woman are community members full of heart, struggle, and resilience. Vocal range: E3-D5.
The tormented ghost of Scrooge’s former business partner. Dark, dramatic, and haunting. Also plays a boisterous butcher. Vocal range: F2–F4.
Tom Jenkins is a street vendor full of charm and wit. Also plays a cheerful poor boy and Peter, the eldest Cratchit sibling. Vocal range: F2–G4
Miss Dilber is a firey Co-Owner of a knitwear stall who owes Scrooge money and who is completely fed-up with him. Mary – friend of Harry & Helen’s, a party guest who enjoys flirting with fellow guest Topper. Martha Cratchit – Oldest sister. Happy, confident, and very helpful to her Mother. Vocal range: Any female range.
Street puppeteer who owes Scrooge money, desperate, funny, charming, loves entertaining kids. Dick Wilkins – friend/co-worker of young Ebenezer in the past who playfully teases Scrooge. Topper – friend of Harry & Helen’s, a party guest who enjoys flirting with fellow guest Mary. Vocal range: Baritone or Tenor.
