About the project: Synopsis: This riveting play based on the Sherlock Holmes stories finds the detective investigating a mysterious group called "The Suicide Club", where individuals who wish to die but cannot bring themselves to do so agree to kill each other randomly. This leads Holmes to unravel a complex web of intrigue and deadly consequences within the elite circles of London society. Additional info: Everyone is welcome. Prior experience is not required. Please prepare a short monologue (no longer than a minute) in a British accent. They will also read scenes from the play. As this show is set in London, British accents are required. Some characters have other accents. Call backs (if needed) on Tuesday August 19. The first rehearsal will be a read-through on Wednesday, August 20. An alluring and mysterious socialite involved in the club’s intrigues. She is Sophisticated, clever, and possibly hiding dangerous secrets; has a strong presence and likely a romantic connection in the story. Speaks with a French accent.
The efficient and authoritative organizer of the Suicide Club. Proper, discreet, and always in control of the nightly “game” of murder. She is a cool-headed facilitator who keeps calm even as tensions rise.

An elderly gentleman of the club, frail and sorrowful . He appears resigned to fate, with a poignant air of despair as one who has lost much and sees the Suicide Club as a last resort.

One actor plays both roles. Mycroft Holmes – Sherlock’s older brother, a high-ranking government official with a razor-sharp mind and dry wit. Authoritative and enigmatic, he is as brilliant as Sherlock in his own way. Mr. Richards – An enigmatic gentleman drawn into the Suicide Club’s affairs, reserved and shrewd. Both roles are polished and intelligent figures.
One actor plays three distinct roles. Inspector Micklewhite – A diligent Scotland Yard inspector, methodical and experienced in police work. Roundy – A chemist and shop owner, intellectual. A.C. Crosse – A secretive, possibly frail gentleman whose understated demeanor masks deeper intentions.

Lucy O’Malley – A young Irish working-class woman with a frank, spirited demeanor as she provides crucial information. Older Lady (Witness) – An elderly, upper-class lady who serves as a witness with key evidence, poised but perhaps a bit rattled. This track calls for a character actress adept at both comedic warmth and sincere gravity. (able to play a younger adult & an older matron).
