Seeking Actresses for "After Ivy" Film
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Directors are casting three actresses for "After Ivy" film. More details are below. About the project: After Ivy is a surreal psychological horror short, following Ivy, a quiet 18-year-old grappling with emotional neglect and mounting paranoia. After a tense confrontation with her distant mother, Ivy seeks refuge among friends, but the fear that someone is watching her won’t let go. As eerie whispers and flickering shadows follow her steps, Ivy spirals into a haunting breakdown that blurs the line between trauma and transformation. This story employs horror as a means of expressing buried pain. Moths, ever-present around Ivy’s pulse points, symbolize decay, vulnerability, and metamorphosis. Mirrors and reflections hint at a fractured identity. The figure that stalks her, silent, shifting, and possibly wearing her own face, may be real, imagined, or the embodiment of trauma taking form. 3 roles
A quiet, introspective teen (18-19) on the edge of a breakdown. Ivy has learned to shrink herself to survive, emotionally neglected by her mother and dismissed by her peers. She’s vulnerable, but not weak. Her fear is real, and it grows into something dark and transformative. The role requires a wide emotional range, stillness, anxiety, and eventual rupture. Must be comfortable performing intense emotional material and scenes involving simulated violence.
Chain-smoking, emotionally unavailable, and emotionally stagnant. She’s not cartoonishly cruel, just someone who’s given up. Her neglect is insidious: passive, cold, and weaponized. She doesn’t scream; she silences. The role is restrained but impactful, and requires an actor who can convey detachment and indifference in a lived-in, human way. A presence that drains a room without moving much.
Social, charismatic, and emotionally inconsistent. Khyra genuinely cares about Ivy, but only when it’s convenient. She's the kind of friend who posts mental health resources online but can't sit with someone in real pain. Represents performative allyship, well-meaning but unreliable. Looking for someone who can balance charm with subtle dismissal. Comfort with improvisation and natural dialogue is a plus.
