MALE IDENTIFIED. Comic with surprisingly killer pop-rock vocal chops. Sings up to an A. A socially awkward and unassuming plant store employee totally overlooked by everyone until the two objects of his obsession (a man-eating plant and the store employee he loves from afar) set him on a path as the hero of his own story. He’s funny, sweet, surprisingly charismatic, and ultimately becomes that hero. "LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS"

FEMALE IDENTIFIED. Quirky comic with strong vocal skills and a belt that shakes the rafters. A cross between Marilyn Monroe and Goldie Hawn. A girl from the mean streets who dreams of somewhere that’s green...underneath the bleached blonde hair is an honest and heartbreaking sweetness and vulnerability. "LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS"

MALE IDENTIFIED. Mature character comic who sings. A middle-class New Yorker, he is a failure of an East Side florist. "LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS"

MALE IDENTIFIED. An egotistical dentist with a black leather jacket and sadistic tendencies. He is a cross between Elvis Presley, James Dean and a young Jack Nicholson. Very versatile pop rock voice with strong falsetto with broad comic skills. Physical comedy and stamina is a necessity. Does not necessarily need to be a phenomenal singer but must be able to carry a musical comedy without an ounce of hesitation. A full range of characters from the same family, ranging from an off-kilter priest to a closeted bee enthusiast to a lowly custodian (each of them intrinsic “English types”). Handsome and effortlessly charming, clever and charismatic, vulnerable and endearing, with a highly developed appreciation for life’s ironies. Monty is the engine of the plot; able to command attention and draw the audience in. While he is intent on killing off the entire family tree, he must have a winning charm that would garner anybody’s trust. High baritone with a strong top; solid low A to high A. Sexy, flirtatious, narcissistic, willful, calculating, and irresistible. A social climber, yes, but also truly loves Monty, and in the end would do anything to protect him. Beautiful, virtuous, forthright, romantic, comically earnest, with a backbone of steel. She is not your typical ingénue, though. Has a sense of irony and humor, in addition to a youthful innocence behind her sophistication. Coloratura soprano up to a high sustained C# with an optional high Eb. Very flexible and agile, B below middle C on the bottom. Also open to performers from a strong operatic background. "GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER"

Morose, short, dry and defensive. Thinks he knows more than anyone else. He runs a junk shop which rarely finds something of value and the fact that he is not a famous dealer eats at him. "MAURITIUS"

A charming con man with a big heart desperate to score. He has never had a real find and senses with these stamps; he may have hit it rich. A comic with great language skills and sex appeal. "MAURITIUS"

A man with a killer’s streak running down his back. He is all business and is not afraid of using force. Great language skills and physical presence. "MAURITIUS"

A seemingly nice simple woman but pushed has a streak of vengefulness in her. She feels like she is being played and wants nothing to do with it. Understands comedy or else it’s all edge. "MAURITIUS"

The lead. She feels she is overlooked and misunderstood. Never really had any agency in her life and wants to have a better world for herself. Through the course of the play, she learns to play a very dangerous game. "MAURITIUS"

Rock tenor; Chest voice B2-Ab4, powerful falsetto/scream up to G5. A well-rounded baritone voice that also has a super extended upper register - virtuosity coupled with sensitive musicianship a must. Think James Taylor meets Steven Tyler. A true “rock star”, comfortable addressing a group of 12 or an arena of 12,000. This role does not dance but must be comfortable moving. SINGS WITH PRECISION. Rock/soul tenor; (E3-D4 (+). An agile and sensitive voice with access to extremely high registers across a full dynamic range. Stylistically drawing a great deal from soul music, useful reference points would be Stevie Wonder/Murray Head. He is the antagonist of the show, concerned that fame is getting in the way of the message of social justice. Can tell a story through a melody. Belt mezzo; (G#3-C5) ALTERNATIVE/TRUE ROCK VOCAL STYLISTS. This is NOT a traditional Musical Theatre Ingenue Singer. This is NOT a “TRADITIONAL” Musical Theatre vocal sound. Can communicate her solo as more than just a simple love song. This role does not dance but must be comfortable moving. Drawing its influence from early 70s pop, this role requires musical simplicity & excellent phrasing. Think Joni Mitchell/Carol King. SINGS WITH PRECISION (No riffing required). Baritone or Baritenor; (A2-Bb4) A strong baritone with extended high register. Think Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Robert Plant. One of Consolidated’s top executives and a notorious chauvinist; Athletic and intensely masculine. He is capable of faking charm, but usually shows his true colors as a lying, sexist, egotistical, bigot. Should sing well. Bari-Tenor. "9 TO 5"

Consolidated’s Head Secretary and Mr. Hart’s Administrative Assistant; Attractive, strong, and ambitious. Intelligent with a wry sense of humor. Mezzo-Soprano. Should move very well. "9 TO 5"

Hart’s young and very attractive personal secretary; A sexySouthern Mountain spitfire who is living proof that there is more to a woman than just her looks. Should move well and be very comfortable in Country-Western vocal styles. Soprano. "9 TO 5"

The “new” girl at the firm; mid-30s. Charmingly naïve and searching for personal Empowerment. Recently separated, she is insecure, but determined and hopeful. Should move extremely well; dance skills a plus. Soprano with a strong mix. "9 TO 5"

The hyper-annoying office gossip queen and snitch; She has a deep unrequited love for Mr. Hart and will do anything to win his approval. Comic skills a plus. Should move and sing well. Soprano. "9 TO 5"
