One of the most successful fantasy novelists of all time. Generationally talented, brilliant, and increasingly isolated. Electric, charismatic, but with an undertone of sadness.
Protagonist of Jo's books. Quietly likeable, with a touch of Jo's gloominess. Conflict-averse, cautious, a negotiator and peacemaker.
Heroine of Jo's books. Direct and brash. She has inherited Jo's brilliance. But she sometimes speaks before she thinks, especially when angry, which she seems to be more and more given the state of the world these days.
Third wheel of Jo's books. Jolly, extroverted, lives in a van by choice. Eager to make you laugh and put you at ease, a lover of life's pleasures, but with a peculiar desperation underneath.
