Performers Needed for "Oklahoma!" Show

Moorpark, CA, United States
ID: 289121Exp: 7/28/2025
Description:

The company is holding auditions for "Oklahoma!" Show and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Oklahoma! is the landmark first collaboration between Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, adapted from Lynn Riggs' 1931 play Green Grow the Lilacs. Set in 1906 in the farm country near Claremore in what was then Native American Territory, the musical follows farm girl Laurey Williams as she is courted by the charming cowboy Curly McLain and the menacing farmhand Jud Fry. A subplot centers on the comedic romance between Will Parker and his spirited fiancée, Ado Annie. This groundbreaking show helped define the "book musical," where songs and dances are seamlessly woven into the plot to support character development and storytelling. This show blends heartfelt drama with humor, romance, and iconic American themes. Oklahoma! brings a fresh twist by incorporating country and bluegrass elements into the classic score, offering a musical experience that feels both nostalgic and newly vibrant.
