Sandy, UT, United States
ID: 288790Exp: 7/8/2025
Description:

Audition for "Bright Star". Looking for male and female talent. See the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Inspired by a true story and featuring the Tony®-nominated score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Broadway’s BRIGHT STAR tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s. When literary editor Alice Murphy meets a young soldier just home from World War II, he awakens her longing for the child she once lost. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out on a journey to understand her past—and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives. With beautiful melodies and powerfully moving characters, the story unfolds as a rich tapestry of deep emotion. An uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tightly in its grasp, BRIGHT STAR is as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful. Additional info: Performances are October 3-18; Callbacks: Saturday, July 12 (by invitation); Show Dates: October 3 - 18, 2025; 16-32 bars in the style of the show that demonstrates both your range and your strengths. This is a big, fun, imaginative show - show us energy and character! An accompanist will be provided for those with sheet music - please bring music properly marked with starting and ending points prepared in a binder or folder. As this show will be accompanied by a live band, a live audition with an accompanist is strongly preferred - however, minus tracks are also allowed and a speaker and chords will be available. Rehearsal Schedule: Typically 4-5 rehearsals a week at the beginning of a show. This may increase to up to 6 times a week closer to show opening. Rehearsals are typically weeknights from 6:30/7 - 10 and Saturdays from 9 - 12/1. Cast members are only called if they are in the number/scene and don't attend all rehearsals. The whole rehearsal schedule is provided at the cast meeting. Be prepared to dance at the initial audition. See the attachment for more details. If interested, please apply.
