"Young Frankenstein" Musical Casting Performers
Seeking cast for musical "Young Frankenstein". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced "Fronk-en-steen") inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor (pronounced "Eye-gore"), and a female lab assistant, Inga (pronounced normally), Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. "It's alive!" he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather's. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds. Additional info: There are 10 principal roles. There are no non-speaking roles. All those cast must sing and move well. Some of the principal roles will also be part of the ensemble in some scenes. Casting is open to performers of any race/ethnicity, gender identity or gender-non-conforming and ability for all roles. This production will not utilize understudies. AUDITION PREPARATION: Please prepare 32 measures in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. No a capella auditions or recorded accompaniments are permitted. Some auditioners may be asked to read a short excerpt from the script. Auditioners should wear comfortable clothing/shoes and be prepared to dance. Please download and complete the Audition Form prior to your audition. See the attachment. Bring the completed Audition Form, all conflicts, resume, and photo. Rehearsals will begin shortly after the show is cast. Rehearsals will be scheduled based on cast availability and will generally be two evenings per week and one weekend day rehearsal until they are closer to opening.
