About the project: “La Estrella” is a tender portrait of a tight-knit Mexican-American family grappling with the entrance of fentanyl into their community. The film will be made in collaboration with La Nueva Drug Talk, an organization supporting parents and caregivers as they talk with their children and young people about the dangers of fentanyl, counterfeit pills, and the new chemical drug landscape.
