4 roles

FatherMale18-56 y.o.All ethnicities

(High Tenor) – An overly enthusiastic, well-meaning mess. Constantly bungling but fiercely devoted to his family, he'll stop at nothing (even swallowing snake venom) to protect them.

MotherFemale18-56 y.o.All ethnicities

(Mezzo-Soprano) – The glue holding the family together. Practical, frazzled, and endlessly exasperated, especially by her husband and daughter. She just wants a better life—and isn’t above faking her death to get it.

Grandpa/Cletus JonesMale50-56 y.o.All ethnicities

(Baritone) – As Grandpa, he’s crude, crabby, and oddly wise. As Cletus, he’s McDoon’s goofy, possibly-gay sidekick. Either way, he’s a handful.

McDoon/OthersMale18-56 y.o.All ethnicities

(Tenor) – McDoon is a cocky Bandit King inappropriately obsessed with Daughter. This actor also plays a dozen fast-changing roles—from horny oxen to bartenders—in a chaotic tour de force of quick changes and comedy.
