About the project: SYNOPSIS: Back in his Missouri family home, Harry S Truman prepares to file suit against a journalist who characterized the former President as a bigot, racist, and anti-Semite working against the interest of the new state of Israel. Bella Abzug, a young lawyer fresh off a crushing civil rights case defeat, is dispatched with an enigmatic assistant to convince Truman that the risks in this case far outweigh any rewards. Truman v Israel is an (imagined) history play about the motives we hide from others (and ourselves) that alter the course of history.
