Seeking three actors for "Vacancy" passion project short film. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the roles below. About the project: GENRE: Arthouse horror SYNOPSIS: Demi spends her free time maintaining her home in the countryside, but is haunted by feelings of loneliness and obsession. She decides to pursue a roommate who can be something more: a friend, a partner, someone to build a life with. However, as she starts to develop real intimacy and trust, the house comes alive to torment her and her prospective partners, and Demi falls victim more and more to her own avoidant tendencies. Demi inherited the ultimate gift from her parents as a means to building a better life for herself: her childhood home. Demi loves and appreciates her house and obsessively toils over its maintenance, but is haunted by its emptiness. She is very routine-driven, organized, and suffers from the consequences of her own avoidant attachment style. She wants nothing more than to let people into her life, but gets overwhelmed and anxious when someone makes an effort to get to know her better.
Davis is the main prospective roommate of the story; he is kind, respectful, and eagerly envisions himself building a life with Demi inside their shared home. Davis strives to be a comforting presence to everyone that he meets, often serving as a caretaker in his friendships and relationships.
The personification of an emotional wound that never healed, he shows no respect for the boundaries or sanctity of others. He is emotionally invasive, self-serving, and detached from the people in his life.
