"The SpongeBob" Musical Casting Performers
Actors sought for "The SpongeBob" musical. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the breakdown below. Additional info: Looking for a diverse cast of performers of all genders. Unless specifically stated otherwise, roles are open to qualified actors of all races, colors, ethnicities, gender identities, ages and abilities. The director and production team are deeply committed to inclusion throughout the audition and rehearsal process. PREPARATION: Auditions will consist of individual singing auditions and a group dance audition. Actors should prepare one minute from a contemporary pop/musical theater song in the style of the show and bring either sheet music for the accompanist to the audition. CALLBACKS: Tuesday July 29th. Those who are needed to attend callbacks, will receive an email after the second night of auditions. Callbacks will consist of additional singing and dancing and reading from the script. Important Dates: Regular rehearsals (usually Sundays-Thursdays 6:30 pm-9:30 pm) will tentatively begin on Sunday August 10th. Mezzo-Soprano/Alto, a squirrel Brainy and athletic, one of Spongebob’s most trusted friends. Martial Arts skills a plus.
Tenor, a starfish. Sweet but child-like – including a tendency towards tantrums. Spongebob’s BFF.
Tenor, a squid – The lovable cynic and foil to Spongebob’s unfailing optimism. Experience with tap preferred.
Tenor, a single-celled organism – Charming, ambitious, and conniving. Dances, raps, and brings a ton of personality to the stage.
Baritone, a crab – The greedy owner of the Krusty Krab – think Ebenezer Scrooge but with claws.
Soprano/Alto, a computer – Plankton’s no-nonsense computer wife.
Mezzo-Soprano, a whale – Mr. Krabs’ teenaged daughter obsessed with the Electric Skates.
