(17): Burns to be both cool and kind, but doesn’t yet know how to be both at the same time.Thinks she’s an old soul, but she’s still innocent enough to be blindsided by love or shocked by cruelty. Willing to look past some heinous acts because she’s convinced (true or otherwise) that there is good in everyone. Epitome of “but I can change him”. This actor will need to be comfortable with: simulated sex, kissing, intimacy, stage combat, and being on stage in minimal clothing.
(17): Charming on the outside, damaged on the inside. Keen smarts with a savage wit. Darkly charismatic, dangerously compelling, borderline abusive. The definition of “hurt people hurt people”. Should make the audience question if he’s a wounded child or has been waiting for a moment to hurt others his whole life. Wide emotional range. This actor will need to be comfortable with: simulated sex, kissing, intimacy, stage combat, and being on stage in minimal clothing.
(17): The queen. She floats above it all. Relishes power and wields it without fear, patience, or mercy. Self-centered, arrogant, commanding, and mean. Little to no redeeming qualities. Just as cruel in death as in life. This actor will need to be comfortable being on stage in minimal/revealing clothing.
(17): Innocent, stupid. Hides behind the other Heathers for protection. Can be cruel if commanded to, but wouldn’t do so of her own accord. She’s actually rather kind and vulnerable under it all. Proof that even when you’re popular life isn’t perfect. This character attempts suicide via swallowing pills on stage.
(17): The whipped beta dog of the three Heathers. Deeply insecure. Willing to say or do anything to keep what little power she can get her hands on. When she finally becomes Queen Bee, she wields power like a bulldozer. Ready and willing to turn on those she once saw as friends. This character has an eating disorder and will simulate vomiting on stage.
(17): The opposite of confident and popular. Huge and beautiful soul, optimistic even in the face of rejection. But even that optimism can be broken down. The only character who is true to herself the whole show even if that makes her the laughingstock of the entire school. This character will be the target of fatphobic language.
(17): Linebacker. Insensitive to the feelings of others. Thinks only about himself and his wants. Dumb at best, cruel at worst. This actor will need to be comfortable being on stage in minimal/revealing clothing, as well as stage combat.
(17): Quarterback and captain. Rude, entitled, cocky. He’s the “brains” in the friendship with Ram. Focused on materialistic high school things: booze, girls, football. This actor will need to be comfortable being on stage in minimal/revealing clothing, as well as stage combat.
Aging hippie teacher, still yearning to relive her glory days. Willing to overshare to be relatable to the youth. Despite a penchant for self-promotion, genuinely cares about the students in her charge.
Former football player turned suburban dad, has never outgrown his high school glory days. Hates weakness, but capable of soul-searching when tragedy strikes. This actor will need to be comfortable kissing/simulating kissing Kurt’s Dad’s actor on stage, and stage combat.
Straight-laced, very conservative, also former football player. A simple guy, not book smart. This actor will need to be comfortable kissing/simulating kissing Ram’s Dad’s actor on stage, and stage combat.
Cruel, abusive, but can hide that behind a big theatrical personality. One of many reasons JD is the way he is.
Stalwart, man’s man; quick to defend his players.
Easygoing, distant, yet capable of laying down the law
Distant and out of touch with his daughter.
Burned out, hates conflict.
Two officers who find Heather Chandler and her suicide note. (Will be double or multicast with other characters/ensemble members)
All playing a stereotype to hide behind. Just trying to survive high school by any means necessary. Some of these actors may be asked to kiss/simulate intimacy on stage, if comfortable.
