Performers Needed for "Dogfight" Show
The company is holding auditions for "Dogfight" show and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project; It's November 21, 1963. On the eve of their deployment to a small but growing conflict in Southeast Asia, three young Marines set out for one final boys' night of debauchery, partying and maybe a little trouble. But, when Corporal Eddie Birdlace meets Rose, an awkward and idealistic waitress whom he enlists to win a cruel bet with his fellow recruits, she rewrites the rules of the game and teaches him the power of love and compassion Additional info: Audition requirements Prepare one 16-32 bar cut of a musical theater song. No accompanist will be provided. Bring a backing track or be prepared to sing acapella. (Jamzone or YouTube are great resources for accompaniment tracks!) Actors will be asked to read from the script (Optional) Bring a headshot and resume, if one is available Rehearsal Schedule Rehearsals will be Monday through Thursday from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, beginning July 14th. Tech rehearsals will be from September 1st - 4th at 6:30 pm. All cast members are required to be in attendance All rehearsals will be closed to the general public Performance Dates and Venue September 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th at 7 pm and September 7th and 14th at 2 pm There is a production fee. A Marine private first class and Birdlace's closest friend. A poor Southern cad, he is the most vocal supporter of the dogfight and fairly crude in his behavior and language. Vocal range top: B4 Vocal range bottom: B2
Boland's date for the dogfight. She is a nearly toothless and homely prostitute. Crass and brash, but sneaky and cunning. Vocal range top: Eb5 Vocal range bottom: F#3
The owner of the local diner. She is unamused by the Marines' antics and protective of her daughter, Rose.
