Seeking Performers for "Tough Guy" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Theater is looking for performers for production of "Tough Guy". More details are below. About the show: Tough Guy follows a group of friends as they navigate the aftermath of a shooting at Aria, a queer nightclub. They’re all nursing wounds, visible and invisible, and are thrown into further turmoil when their friend Emerson, a rising star in the independent film scene, comes back home to film a documentary about the shooting. Rate: Performers will be contracted under Canadian Actors’ Equity’s Indie 3.0 Agreement. Additional information: Rehearsals: October 6, 2025 – October 27, 2025. Run: October 28, 2025 – November 8, 2025. Auditions will take place in Alberta. Rehearsals will take place in Edmonton, at a location to be determined. The audition and performance locations are fully accessible, and we will secure a rehearsal venue that is also fully accessible. All artists will be required to sign and abide by Persistent Myth Production’s Safe(r) Spaces policy. When applying, please submit your head shot & resume with the subject line: "TOUGH GUY AUDITION". They/Them, an AFAB non-binary person. An amateur boxer. Guarded, simmering, with a biting sense of humor. Was present at the Aria shooting, survived uninjured. Strong movement and some familiarity with boxing is an asset.
She/Her, a trans woman. A student in film school, and Quinn’s best friend. Careful, compassionate, and a bit obsessive – a party girl who decided to grow up. Was not present at the shooting.
She/Her. Had a repressive religious upbringing, was just beginning to embrace her queerness with confidence when she was killed during the Aria shooting. Quick-witted, empathetic and charming, the glue of the group.
