Ruth, an enthusiastic theater-goer, sees the evening as a dream come true, while Jack, a varnish salesman, would rather be at home watching the World Series. Their night at the theater becomes a comedic adventure as they interact with a cast of eccentric characters, including actors, a director, and other patrons, leading to a series of humorous and unexpected events.
