About the project: Synopsis: In a cynical experiment with dating apps, two lifelong best friends are shockingly matched with near-perfect compatibility. This digital revelation ignites a spark of forbidden romance, forcing them to confront whether their comfortable platonic bond has been masking a deeper, undeniable connection, potentially risking their cherished friendship for a love they never saw coming. Mel is initially cynical about dating apps, preferring natural connections and valuing honesty. She teases her best friend Steven for his pickiness and introduces him to the idea of "wabi sabi," or finding beauty in imperfection. Despite her skepticism, she creates a candid dating app profile as a challenge and is stunned to match with Steven. Though initially fearful of ruining their friendship, she ultimately embraces their romantic potential.
Steven is a "hopeless romantic" who is frustrated with his dating app experiences, holding out for the "perfect woman". He challenges Mel to try an app, which leads to their unexpected match. The app's revelation forces him to confront his true feelings, admitting that his dates don't work out because his ideal partner is Mel. He embraces the possibility of a romantic relationship with his best friend.
