Casting Call for Summer Shorts

Casting 23 non-equity roles in eight brand-new short plays for annual Summer Shorts production. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See more info below. About the project: "BLOOD MOON": A delivery driver gets a most unusual request from a customer during the pandemic. "CATACLYSM": Telly has had enough of Blake's nonsense. "JIMMY'S RETURN": An ex-con returns to his hometown for his father's funeral and runs into the last person he'd ever want to see. "THE LIVING WAKE": Three strangers find themselves at a “Living Wake” for a woman from their past. "MIA'S PROM DRESS": A couple still grieving the loss of their daughter in a school shooting holds an estate sale. "POWERLESS": Amy needs help caring for her grandfather, a Holocaust survivor, but he is pretty sure that she needs more help than he does. "TAKE OFF THE BLINDERS": The lives of two sisters and their families are changed when one of their children comes out as trans. "THE WAITING ROOM": An experienced worker and a possible recruit explore the mysteries and machinations of the Waiting Room. Rate: Performers will receive a $25 stipend. Additional info: Callbacks are June 11th from 7pm to 11pm. Tech dates are July 30th and 31st. Show dates are August 1-3 and 8-10. All actors must be available for tech week and all performances.
