Theatre Casting Call for "Behind the Dark Gray Wall"
In need of male talent for the "Behind the Dark Gray Wall". Please see more details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Behind the Dark Gray Wall is an emotional one-act play, which combines many award-winning poems and short vignettes by playwright Larry N. Stromberg, who is currently incarcerated and serving time at SCI Phoenix in Pennsylvania. The play, which will be directed by Dave Di Pietro, examines the mental, physical and spiritual state of a diverse group of men and women, who have been locked away for their crimes. Many of the scenes depicted within this show are based on true, first-hand accounts of incarcerated life. This play examines exactly how this imprisonment truly affects each of the detainee's inner soul in their day-to-day struggles of prison life. Mr. Stromberg peppers every scene with the harsh realism that only can be found by being locked away within this heartless setting. From the compassionate story of a "lifer," who gets to visit his dying father, to the tender tale of what truly goes on deep within the dark mind of an insane woman, Behind the Dark Gray Wall weaves a compilation of stories that will move and resonate with the audience with each compelling scene and verse. The touching and sometimes heart-warming ways in which these stories are presented will certainly echo in the hearts of audiences for a lifetime. Rate: This is a a non-union, non-paying position.
