Seeking Cast for Feature Film Script Reading
Casting notice for feature film script reading. Looking for actors. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See more info below. About the project: Directors are doing a feature film script reading for "Summons," a sci-fi dramedy where 12 humans are summoned for what seems like average jury duty, only they're ruling will determine much more than one person's fate. Think "12 Angry Men" meets "Galaxy Quest." Rate: The script reading does not pay. Drinks and snacks will be provided. In addition, mileage may be offered if you have a longer drive to the location. Directors are casting the roles as accurately as possible. No guarantees in this life, but the hope of the production team is that the cast at the reading becomes the cast in the film itself once funding is acquired. Additional info: Script reading is to gain feedback, ensure inclusion, and gather insights from those in the industry ahead of entering production. Looking for actors to read for Jurors 7-12 as well as a Narrator who can read action, scene descriptions, and provide a Twilight Zone-style monologue at the opening. Must be in Colorado. Reading will be in person on June 8th, 2025, at 3 pm. Directors are only wanting people who can attend in person. When applying, please include your resume, headshot, website, etc. anything you have so directors can get a sense for who you are.

Supporting. An aspiring media personality, SEVEN doesn’t struggle with being a wheelchair user. The rest of the world does, though. Her daily reminders and bombardment have left her focusing away from her accomplishments and career. * Directors would like to cast inclusively with a wheelchair user if possible *
Supporting. EIGHT is about to graduate from college. Perceptive and intelligent, she grew up seeing the world for what it is; she’s not excited about becoming a working adult in the United States of ‘murica.
Lead. NINE is the lead juror, managing the twelve jurors, counting the votes, and trying to maintain order when deliberation turns to chaos. Her effortless leadership shows. As the jury duty commences, her daughter, whom she had at an early age, is constantly on her mind.
Supporting. A quiet presence at first, TEN speaks of his wife and grandchildren fondly. Otherwise, he’s observing the world around him, wondering what’s next in his latter act of life.
Supporting. ELEVEN is about to leave for their second tour in the army. Their boiling anger at society’s choices causing conflict leaves them torn between the bonds with their unit, and the truth of war they’ve seen their first time out.
Supporting. A polite and calm presence, TWELVE is a new citizen, excited to be included in the American jury duty process. However, their new citizenship came at a tumultuous time, and their perception of the American dream is quickly dying.
Supporting. The Narrator has a Twilight Zone-style monologue in the beginning. From there, the narrator will read scene descriptions and the action of the script.
