About the project: ABOUT 1984: George Orwell's classic dystopia 1984 is a still-resonant vision of the tolls of living under totalitarianism. Constructed almost entirely from dialogue taken from the original novel, this bold and powerful dramatization restores the blazing heart of Orwell's work: a doomed love story, with the lovers at its center. ABOUT HENRY V: HENRY V is an Historical play by William Shakespeare that focuses on the military exploits and short reign of King Henry V. The play primarily depicts the invasion of France, the Battle of Agincourt, and his subsequent marriage to Princess Katherine. The play explores themes of leadership, war, and relationships. Additional info: PREPARE: a 1-minute classical monologue. Preferably Shakespeare, but it's more important that you know it well and can take adjustments. ABOUT 1984: Rehearsals for 1984 start SEPT 8, 2025, and performs in the Nesbit Elliot Playhouse OCT 11-26, 2025, with weekday student matinees on October 14, 15, 21st, and 22nd, 2025 at 10am. ABOUT HENRY V: Rehearsals for HENRY V Student Tour start SEPT 30, 2025, and the production tours schools in and out of the Phoenix Valley through MARCH 31, 2026. Performances are typically at 10am (depending on the school's requested time). Additionally, this production performs in the Virginia Piper Theatre at the Mesa Arts Center FEB 10-21st, 2026 with weekday student matinees February 11, 18, 19th, 2026 at 10am.
