About the project: Mop & Bucket Blues tells the story of JJ, a weary but wise Chicago janitor who has spent decades cleaning up underfunded inner-city schools literally and figuratively. As gang violence and systemic failures threaten the school's future, JJ and a former NFL player turned principal fight to preserve hope and opportunity for the next generation. With raw emotion, humor, and humanity, this production explores survival, mentorship, and what it means to care when the system doesn't.
