About the play: Since its inception in 1962, the Shaw Festival has grown to become a major Canadian cultural icon, a gem in this country’s rich cultural heritage. Inspired by the wit and passion of Bernard Shaw, the Shaw Festival is a contemporary theatre that features a smart, provocative, potent and diverse mix of plays from the past and present, performed by our celebrated repertory theatre Ensemble. The result is theatre that is challenging, surprising, often funny and always entertaining. These plays are lovingly and artfully brought to the stage each year by a talented team of actors, directors, and designers, showcasing the incredible tapestry of talent that this country contributes to the world. Rate: AGREEMENT: CTA. All auditions are by appointment only. All performers cast in the production will be engaged under an Equity contract. Additional information: Each performer should prepare 2 contrasting songs, preferably an up tempo and a ballad. At least 1 of your selections should be from the Golden Age of Broadway (1920-1960) Please note: they may only hear one song. An Accompanist will be provided for musical auditions. Please bring your music in the key in which you will be singing. The accompanist will not be able to transpose it for you. Applicants selected for an audition will be contacted to confirm an appointment. Directors will not contact anyone who has not been selected for an appointment.
