Singers Sought for "Man of La Mancha" Show
The company is holding auditions for "Man of La Mancha" and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Man of La Mancha is a Tony-award winning musical based on a non-musical, I, Don Quixote which Dale Wasserman also penned. Both were inspired by writer Miguel de Cervantes and his novel Don Quixote. The story takes place in a dungeon during the Spanish Inquisition. Cervantes and his loyal companion are thrown in jail without a trial. They assess their situation and use their skills to skillfully weave a tale of adventure, courage, honor and defiance in the face of evil. The play highlights the captivating nature of a well-told story, value of a quest, the importance of honor and justice and how to stand up in the face of moral depravity. Cervantes builds a community among the prisoners, inspires them with his just conviction and ignites a flicker of hope. Additional info: Call-backs will take place as needed on Wednesday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. Auditions will consist of singing, participating in a group dance number and readings from the script (if time allows). Each audition session will be two hours. Please prepare a 60-90 second selection from a song in the style of the show or of the character that you are interested in. (Please do not sing selections from Man of La Mancha for your audition song.) Performance Dates: October 24, 25, and November 1, 2, and 7, 8, 9.
