Actors Needed for "Our Town" Play Audition
Actors needed for play "Our Town". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the breakdown below. About the project: SYNOPSIS: Described by Edward Albee as “the greatest American play ever written,” Our Town presents the small town of Grover’s Corners in three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage” and “Death and Eternity.” Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, the play depicts the simple daily lives of the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually – in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre – die. Additional info: Auditions will be readings from the scripts and other activities - there is nothing to prepare ahead of time. NOTE: All ages are stage ages and NOT the age of the actor. Same with gender. Do not let them prevent you from auditioning for a role you are interested in. This is a very ensemble-based show with a lot of lines and stage-time to go around. Callbacks, if needed, will be on June 19th at 7pm. Rehearsals will begin in August (with the exception of a read-through in June) and be 3-4 days per week, built around the availability of the cast. Show Dates: - Oct. 10th, 11th and 17th at 7:30pm - Oct. 12th, 18th and 19th at 2pm If you are interested, please apply.
