A quiet, introspective girl grappling with emotional neglect and rising paranoia. Ivy longs for connection, but is constantly dismissed by those around her. As the story unfolds, she spirals into a psychological and possibly supernatural breakdown. Her transformation - whether emotional, mental, or something more monstrous- is terrifying not because it’s inhuman, but because it’s so deeply human.
A chain-smoking, emotionally absent mother. Her home is decaying, much like her relationship with her daughter. She belittles Ivy’s emotions and disguises her cruelty as toughness. She’s not overtly evil, but her indifference and neglect are insidious.
Ivy’s only friend, but one who is emotionally inconsistent. Khyra is social, loud, and often self-absorbed. She loves Ivy in a surface-level way, but disappears when Ivy’s needs become too heavy. Her failure to be present in a moment of crisis becomes a deep betrayal.
A mythic, faceless presence. The Stalker is silent, watchful, and predatory, their movements are deliberate, almost ritualistic. They may be real, or they may be the living embodiment of Ivy’s trauma. This character is more symbolic than a person, and requires strong physicality, presence, and comfort with abstract/surreal direction. No dialogue.
