Th company is holding auditions for "Much Ado About Nothing" show and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Claudio and Hero are set to be wed! To pass the time, Don Pedro concocts a plan to make Benedick and Beatrice put their famous feud to an end and fall in love with each other. But Pedro's brother John has a plan of his own to besmirch Hero's name and ruin the wedding. Set in a modern day high school, this production aims to bring Shakespeare's themes about deception and identity into the modern age by examining cliques and the use of social media. Rate: No Pay Additional info: Rehearsals Begin: June 9, 2025 Run/Shoot: July 25, 2025 – August 3, 2025 Please prepare one comedic Shakespearean monologue, totalling no more than 3 minutes in length. Self-professed bachelor for life. Best of friends with Claudio and Don Pedro, and often engages in a “skirmish of wit” with Beatrice.
Witty cousin of Hero, has a love/hate relationship with Benedick.
young and in love with Hero. A little naive and quick to believe whatever he’s told. Our production reimagines him as the new star player of the school’s football team.
Sweet and innocent, but enjoys playfully teasing her cousin Beatrice. Our production places her as head cheerleader of the cheerleading squad.
Hero’s father (or mother) and the principal of Messina High.
Best friends with Claudio and Benedick. Commands authority. Not only is he the football team quarterback, he’s also class president.
Pedro’s jealous brother, determined to use deception to cause chaos and ruin relationships.
Trusted follower of Don John who uses a romantic connection with Margaret to trick Claudio.
Member of the cheer squad. Loves making sexual jokes to make those around her uncomfortable. Has some kind of “relationship” with Borachio.
Another cheerleader. Joins Hero in tricking Beatrice, and is delighted to play her part in the fun.
Follower of Don John and friends of sorts with Borachio. Gets unwillingly roped into the plot to trick Claudio.
Leonato’s brother (or sister) and also the Vice-Principal of Messina High.
Wacky security guard of the school. Gets way too involved in student affairs. Very unaware of proper protocol, but golly does Dogberry try
Dogberry’s loyal assistant. May or may not be aware of Dogberry’s eccentric behavior, but supports him 100% no matter what.
2 fellow guards working with Dogberry and Verges. The ones who actually do all the work, but get none of the credit.
Our production reimagines him as the DJ of the school dances. Francis “marries” Hero and Claudio, and comes up with a plan to fake Hero’s death when things go wrong.
The school’s guidance counselor, who Dogberry presents Borachio and Conrade’s “crimes” to.
Fellow student and musician. Overly enthused about sharing their talents to anyone who’ll listen.
