About the project: Synopsis: Maria is 14 and has never really known her dad, a legendary mariachi singer named Roberto Bustamante, who vanished from her life when she was little. All she has are her mom’s dreamy stories, old photos, and a dusty puppet that looks like him. But at night, when everything’s quiet, Maria swears she can hear him, the creak of the rocking chair, the strum of a guitar, even the smell of cigarettes and tequila in the air. She doesn’t know if it’s a ghost, a memory, or just her imagination... but maybe it doesn’t matter. Sometimes, the people we miss show up in their own way. Rate: Non-union actors.
