Nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, ROCK OF AGES captures the iconic era that was the big bad 1980s Hollywood. Know What Love Is, Feel the Noise, and Take Your Best Shot at one of the Sunset Strip’s last epic venues, a place where the legendary Stacee Jaxx returns to the stage and rock-n-roll dreamers line up to turn their fantasies into reality. Featuring the music of hit bands such as Styx, Poison, Twisted Sister, and Whitesnake among many others, this Tenth Anniversary production features a dynamic new cast revisiting the larger than life characters and exhilarating story that turned ROCK OF AGES into a global phenomenon. Vocal Range: Bb3-A4 comfortably & up to D5) A good-guy rocker with boyish charm and vulnerability. Drew works as a bar back at the legendary Bourbon Room hoping and waiting for his dreams to come true. He finds an instant attraction to Sherrie, the new arrival from the Midwest, who encourages him to go after his dreams. Strong comedic timing and a very strong rock tenor voice.
(Vocal Range: G3-F5, strong belt up to C5) A fresh faced, innocent Midwestern girl stepping right off the bus into a new world to pursue her dreams of stardom in LA. She finds an instant attraction to Drew but gets mixed up with the wrong crowd and finds herself working in an erotic dance club. Strong comedic timing, strong rock belt, good movement ability.
(Vocal Range: D3-D5, mostly A4-A5) The narrator of the musical; charming, mischievous, welcoming, vibrant personality. Acts toxically masculine but actually has a heart of gold. Strong comedic timing/improv skills and strong rock vocals.
(Vocal Range: D3-G4) Laid back and easy-going, Dennis runs the famous Bourbon Room club on the Sunset Strip. Fatherly figure. Torn about whether he should sell the club to Hertz, a German businessman. Very strong comedic timing and Bari-tenor rock vocals.
(Vocal Range: C3-Bb4 comfortably & up to Eb5) A sexy rock star. He is at the top of his game and just left his very successful metal rock band to venture out on his own. Self-important, confident, and intriguing in all the wrong ways, he is the ultimate bad boy. His life is a merry-go-round of sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. Very strong comedic timing and strong rock tenor voice.
(Vocal Range: G3-Db5 also with strong belt) She has a commanding presence and an easy sensuality about her. Once a performer, she now operates a strip club where Sherrie winds up working. Takes on the maternal role for the girls that work for her. Strong, soulful vocals and belt needed.
(Vocal Range: F3-G#4) A middle-aged German gentleman. Uptight, cold, intimidating businessman trying to buy up the Strip to develop it. Our villain, with a commanding presence, strong comedic timing, and baritone vocals. German accent.
(Vocal Range: Db3-A4) Hertz’s “foppish” son. Works for his father but not by choice. Pressured and intimidated by his father. Shy, gentle with a big heart. Strong vocals and comedic timing. German accent.
(Vocal Range: A3-Eb5) A fun, hippie type, earthy girl who fights against the attempted takeover of The Strip. Strong comedic timing, belt vocals. Candy works at the erotic dance club.
